First Swiss Sri Lanka Business and Investment Forums held in Geneva & Zurich in Switzerland on 11th and 12th of June 2012

Foto1The first Swiss Sri Lanka Business and Investment Forums were held in Geneva and Zurich on 11th and 12th June 2012 respectively. The events were organized by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Berlin/Germany with accreditation in Switzerland in coordination with the Swiss Asian Chamber of Commerce in Switzerland. This was an initiative to showcase Sri Lanka's investment & trade potentials to Swiss-based industrialists, financial houses and businessmen after the end of the long conflict on the island.

DSC 0905Ambassador Sarrath Kongahage has opened the photography exhibition, 'Sri Lanka Nature in Focus' by Mr. Atuila Dissanayake one of the renowned artists from Sri Lanka, at the Werkstatt der Kulturen - Neukölln in Berlin on 19th May 2012. The exhibition was organised by the Sri Lanka Association in Berlin with the support of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin on the sidelines of the 'Sri Lankan Cultural Week 2012' from 19th to 27th May 2012 parallel to the Carnival of Cultures in Berlin.

Ambassador Sarrath Kongahage was chief guest at the 29th anniversary of the Bonn Cricket Club held on 26th May 2012. The 29th anniversary of the club was celebrated with a musical evening by renowned names in the Sri Lanka music industry 'Bathiya and Santhush'. The former captain of the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team and Member of Parliament Mr. Arjnua Ranatunge graced the event as the guest of honour.

DSC 0905Botschafter Sarrath Kongahage hat die am 19. Mai 2012 in der Werkstatt der Kulturen in Berlin-Neukölln die Fotoausstellung ‘Sri Lanka Nature in Focus’ von Atuila Dissanayake, einem der bekanntesten Künstler aus Sri Lanka, eröffnet. Die Ausstellung wurde mit Unterstützung der Botschaft von Sri Lanka in Berlin durch die Sri Lanka Association in Berlin eröffnet und bildete einen Bestandteil der ‘Sri Lankan Cultural Week 2012’, die vom 19. Bis 27. Mai 2012 zeitgleich mit dem Karneval der Kulturen in Berlin stattfand.

DSCN0217The Sri Lanka Expo 2012, an international trade exhibition organized by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (SLEDB) with the support of entrepreneurs in the private and public sectors, was held from 28 to 30 March 2012 at the BMICH, Colombo, Sri Lanka.   It took place after a lapse of several years following the successful ending of the three decades of civil conflict with the objectives of promoting trade, investment and tourism as well as instilling confidence among the buyers of Sri Lankan goods and services.
