Parliamentary delegation from Sri Lanka visits Germany

ParlDel1A Parliamentary delegation from Sri Lanka, headed by Hon. Kumara Welgama, undertook a visit to Germany from 2-9 June 2019 on an invitation extended by the German-South Asia Parliamentary Friendship Group. The delegation was comprised of Hon. Members of Parliament Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Sunil Hadunnetti, S.M. Marikkar, Wijepala Hettiarachchi, Shanthi Sriskandarasa and Assistant Director /Administration of the Sri Lanka Parliament Janakantha Silva.


Embassy of Sri Lanka gifts two Buddha statues to the Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin

Buddhastatuen1The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin gifted two Buddha statues to the Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin, upon a request made by the Cambodian Ambassador. Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Ambassador, officially handed over the Buddha statues to Ambassador Sopharath Touch, on 7 June 2019 at the Embassy premises. This meritorious act was assisted by Air Chief Marshal Kapila Jayampathy (Rtd).

Sri Lanka Embassy in Berlin hosts Iftar

DSC 0010Emphasizing the importance of promoting inter-faith harmony, with the participation of the Sri Lankan community and representatives from the Sri Lanka Associations in Berlin, the Embassy of Sri Lanka hosted an Iftar for the second consecutive year on Thursday, 30 May 2019 in the Embassy premises. The Ambassadors of Bangladesh, Maldives and Egypt also graced the event.

Candle Light Vigil in Remembrance of the Victims of the Easter Sunday Attacks

National Day of Mourning

MourningOn the day of national mourning declared by the Government of Sri Lanka, the staff of the Embassy observed 3 minutes silence as a mark of respect for and remembrance of all victims of the attack on Easter Sunday.
